Chiaroscuro in Grayton Beach, Florida

This home was an endeavor to create an interior that would reflect and coordinate my client's love of Italian design and a transition from the upper east side of New York City to the beautiful southern dune lakes and beaches of scenic county highway 30-A.  Here is where we are so far!

Pierced Shadow Ball Pendants in unlacquered brass transform this hallway into a light dappled pathway. One of my favorite Art Deco wall papers from Osborne and Little in the powder bath.
A railing I designed for a small stair to the second floor.  The matte acid washed bronze finish against white plaster continues the study in high contrast and neutrals. A plaster surround in the master bedroom eases the transition between the Osborne and Little Chrysanthemum wallpaper and the plaster in the next room.

A guest bath in white marble, unlacquered brass and white plaster.  I love using unlacquered brass - in a couple of years the fixtures will be a soft golden brown living finish. The doors and windows are oversized to maximize the home's gulf and lake views.
Plaster columns that were constructed on site from a simple sketch were designed to look authentically aged over time.  Reclaimed oak beams from north Walton County line the ceiling - leaving pieces of old chipping paint works beautifully with the white plaster surrounding them.
